A new information Website
is being developed which gives potential users of Community
Heating schemes and CHP, unrivalled access to a complete
range of supplier information. The site is split into
21 separate categories with links to suppliers of equipment
and providers of services to community heating and CHP
projects. The categories range from feasibility studies
to providers of finance for potential schemes.
The purpose of the site
is to facilitate the tendering process for the benefit
of Local Authorities, Registered Social Landlords and
Developers who wish to develop these environmentally
friendly projects. Information is easily accessible
and is split into logical sections, acting as a checklist
for project managers and planners.

available for companies wishing to join the Website.

George Towler who has recently received the 1999
award for Individual Contribution for the Development
of Community Heating in the UK. The award was presented
by Helen Liddle, Minister of State for Energy and Competition
in Europe. George has over 30 years' experience in Community
Heating and is arguably one of the most well known and
respected figures in the industry.
Four levels of entry are
on offer. Market Leaders will be offered prominent Banner
Positions, if available, whereas smaller companies
may wish to go for the lower cost Standard Entry
which provides a hyperlink into their own website. GIM
will also design and launch individual websites for
those companies who have yet to go online.
This is an opportunity
for smaller companies to take advantage of the 100%
1st year capital allowances announced in
the recent budget. The site will be on-line on 2
April 2000 to open up the access to this valuable,
growing market and will be launched formally on 1
June 2000.
